The 'KRYPTO KALASH' is the world's first NFT that comes with a physical and fully deactivated AK-47 art piece, by renowned artist and veteran; Bran Symondson The exclusive 'One of One' physical edition art piece weighs 6.3kg and is 34.5 inches in length and will be delivered in a purpose-built cabinet. The magazine has been laser cut, revealing 7.62 x 39mm transparent glass bullets containing symbolic fillings such as diamonds, blood, snakeskin and pearls. Bran has collaged the weapon with real dollar bills and hand-cut shapes to form decoration and texture, whilst incorporating the new future of money - cryptocurrency; with Bitcoin and Ethereum symbols, which are neatly rendered into the same green hue as the dollar. 'Krypto Kalash' aims to transform the profound symbolism of the AK-47, from that of terrorism and revolution, into a sculpture that contemplates the value of currency as it transitions from paper to crypto. The AK-47, which was once a weapon of defense while on the ground in Afghanistan has now been taken out of circulation by the artist to become a canvas to spread awareness of how much money is generated through conflict, whilst representing the evolution of legal tender. “KRYPTO KALASH” honors the weight and power associated with an iconic weapon but simultaneously disarms us with its unexpected beauty.
